Syllabus For Dr. Watt's Finite Math Section Spring 2004

Section: C571, TR 1:00 - 2:15 PM, LE 101. (MATH S118: Honors Section C575)

Office Hours: After class and by appointment.

WarmUps: Will be due 1 hour before the lecture on the topic.

Quizzes: Will be done during lecture on the topic. These are open book, note, and neighbor.

Tests: Must get prior permission to schedule a different time to take a test outside the testing periods listed below. No make-ups after testing period ends. Tests are designed to take 1 hour (time limit is set at 2 hours). Tests will be administered in LD 229 on assigned weekends during the following times:

Friday 5 PM till 8 PM (must sign RSVP list)

Saturday 9 AM till 6 PM (must arrive by 5 PM)

Sunday 10 AM till 4 PM (must arrive by 3 PM)

Honor's Section: Will complete Chapters 7 and 8 independently from class time and submit the homework before the end of final exam week.

Dishonesty: Cheating will result in a minimum penalty of receiving a grade of F in the course.

Attendance Policy: This course makes use of the Administrative Withdrawal Policy of IUPUI. A student who does not attend at least 50% of the class meetings during the first month of the semester will be administratively withdrawn from the course at midterm.

No Class: Monday, January 19, 2004, Dr. M.L. King Day

March 15 through March 21, 2004, Spring Break.

Withdrawal: Last day to withdrawal is Friday, April 2, 2004.

Final Exam: You must pass the final exam to pass the course. The final exam is on Saturday, May 1, 2004, 1:00 - 3:00 PM, LE 101. (Note: this is the weekend before final exam week.)
