In the spirit of Just-in-Time Teaching, the prep page requests some input from you. We plan to discuss your responses during the session. If you wish to remain anonymous, please use an alias in your response.

Objectives

• Participants can define JiTT
• Participants are intrigued and motivated to try JiTT
• Participants know how they are using JiTT already
• Participants further understand their studentsÕ misconceptions
• Participants will have at least one Warm-Up Question
• Participants agree to try JiTT once in class, hopefully next week!

Session Agenda

• Introductions and opening discussion (10 min)
• JiTT Basics
1. Overview of JiTT from multiple perspectives (10 min)
2. Participants work in groups of four (10 min)
3. Brief overview of group work (5 min)
• What JiTT can Do for You (10 min)
• Connect class to the real world
• Reveal students misconceptions
• Help introduce technical jargon
• Getting your hands dirty (15 min)
• What makes a good JiTT Question?
• During this period, participants will write a few JiTT questions they could use in their current class, and critique those questions in small groups
• Friendly critique of assignments (10 min)
• Further discussion and wrap-up (10 min)
• Evaluation (5 min)
