BPMME stands for "Bachelors in Physics Masters in Mechanical Engineering." This is a streamlined new program combining degrees in physics and mechanical engineering, available only at IUPUI. By taking advantage of overlaps in the curricula of the two departments, this program allows students to earn both a BS in physics and an MS in mechanical engineering in as little as 5 years, saving both time and tuition dollars; only 142 credit hours are required. The BPMME prepares its graduates for high-tech careers by providing an ideal mix of engineering skills with a background in fundamental physics. BPMME graduates have the engineering expertise to make an immediate impact on the job, and the scientific background to grow and adjust in today's ever-changing job market.
