A piano duo (two pianos, four hands) is tuning up.  When they play their respective middle C notes, a beat pattern is heard at 3 Hz.  One of the pianos is known to be in exact tune (middle C = 256 Hz).  What frequency or frequencies might the other piano be playing?

 A police car siren operates at 300 Hz.   As you are riding your bike down the street at 8 m/s, a police car approaches from behind at 30 m/s.  If his siren is on, what frequency will you hear.  (Assume the velocity of sound is 340 m/s.)
