1. The system pictured above is in static equilibrium. The pole is free to pivot where it touches the wall. Find the force at the wall and the tension in the supporting cable. This is similar to the horizontal and vertical cables in your experiment.
In preparation for the lab, calculate the forces T, V and H which are holding a uniform bar of mass m in equilibrium. Express T, V and H in terms of the
mass of the bar m and the two angles alpha and beta and the tension K= 1.96N.
