where -m2 was a separation constant. (a) What is the solution, Φ(φ), to this equation? (b) Can you think of any restriction we may want to put on m? (Hint: what properties do wave functions have that this one may not have?)
2. We have just looked at the general form for the TISE in 3-d in spherical coordinates. If I had a particle confined to a spherical shell of radius R, (a) what would the TISE look like? (b) What would the particle's energy spectrum be?
