What do you think are the biggest barriers to students' learning?
  • (Many) Fear, lack of engagement, lack of curiosity, poor teaching, expecting to be "spoon fed", poor preparation in K-12, distractions and time pressure, poor study skills, inability to see the relevance of the subject.

Do you think it is important for students to discuss your subject with one another? Why?
  • (Jay Howard) Reinforces learning. Allows students to learn from each other.
  • (EF) We learn alot by talking to others and many of us don't know what we know until we have talked about it, i.e., thinking out loud.
